Upon your arrival at the Chicago airport, meet your tour manager and transfer to your downtown hotel. Tonight, you’ll gather to meet your fellow travelers at your Get Acquainted Dinner.

Monday, 9/6/2010 - City Tour North Shore / Historical Museum
With is so much to see in the “Windy City” we have divided your city tour into two sections: north shore & south shore. Join your local guide today as we tour such northern Chicago landmarks as: Water Tower, The Magnificent Mile, John Hancock Building, Drake Hotel, Lakeshore Drive, & Lincoln Park. Learn of the “gangster” era of the 1930’s when Al Capone, Machine Gun Kelly, and John Dillinger ruled the streets of Chicago. See famous Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs. Visit the Chicago Historical Museum with its exhibits devoted to The Great Fire of 1871 & two Chicago Worlds Fairs. Return to your hotel. Tonight, choose from many nearby restaurants.

Tuesday, 9/7/2010 - Oak Park / Hemingway / S. Shore / Field Museum
Motor to the lovely suburb of Oak Park, former home of architect Frank Lloyd Wright and author Ernest Hemingway. Tour the Wright Studio, where the arthitect lived & worked from 1889 to 1909. Then, tour the home & museum of the Pulitzer and Nobel Prize winning author, Ernest Hemingway. Continue the South Shore tour to see the 1893 Science & Industry Building & Midway Plaisance in Jackson Park. Arrive at Campus Point and visit the world famous Field Museum of Natural History, housing the biological & anthropological collections for the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition. Return to your hotel prior to tonight’s dinner at a local Italian restaurant.

Wednesday, 9/8/2010 - Cantigney Park / Art Inst.
This morning you’ll tour Cantigney Park. The 500-acre grounds were formerly the property of Col. Robert McCormick, editor of the Chicago Tribune and a veteran of the 1st Infantry Division. The park includes 10 acres of formal gardens, wooded walks and museums. Tour the 1st Division Museum honoring the U.S. Army’s 1st Infantry Division, with units dating from 1776. This afternoon visit the Art Institute of Chicago, one of the best art museums in the world. Marvel at the Impressionist Gallery, the George Harding Collection of Arms & Armor and the Mrs. James Ward Thorne Collection of miniature famous rooms. Gather this evening for another included dinner at a fine local restaurant.

Thursday, 9/9/2010 - Free Day
This day is free for you to explore this fabulous city on your own. You may wish to shop on Michigan Avenue at Saks 5th Avenue, Bloomingdale's, & Marshall Fields. Or maybe visit the Museum of Science & Industry, the Adler Planetarium, Shedd Aquarium, or take an architectural walking tour of the Loop. Your tour manager will be happy to make arrangements for you.

Friday, 9/10/2010 - Sears Tower / The Loop / Navy Pier / River Cruise
Tour the downtown Loop area. Ascend to the top of the Sears Tower, at 1450 feet, the largest building in North America. See famous State Street with its Marshall Fields Store, pass by the Loop's many beautiful sculptures, and view the famous commodities trading floor at the Board of Trade. In the afternoon enjoy a fully narrated Architectural Cruise of the Chicago River. Learn about such landmarks as the Wrigley Building, Tribune Tower, & Merchandise Mart. Tonight, reminisce about your week over your Farewell Dinner.
